Fanime 2011
San Jose Convention Center

This was another costume design that was a lot of fun to fabricate. I wanted to play with the concept of the Tale of Icarus, since Edward references it early on in the series (both the original and Brotherhood), and uses it as a metaphor to describe his brush with human transmutation. However, instead of making wings of wax, I decided to keep in line with the more steampunk elements of the show, and fabricated wings of wire and metal rods, then antiqued them to match my rusted automail.
Due to con safety regulations, I made both the wings and my automail out of plastic, which I then painted to look like metal. The only metal element on the wings is the thin floral wire.

It's still a great cosplay. That must have been tricky to make the auto-mail foot, especially as something to wear.
